약력

Raised in London and Accra, Baff Akoto is an artist working across multiple mediums. A self-taught filmmaker, Baff is interested in the fluidity of visual grammar and characters who wrestle with notions of identity and self-perceptions. His practice has been shaped by mentors including the acclaimed artist John Akomfrah and the Oscar-winning Asif Kapadia. In 2018, Screen International tipped Baff as a 'Star of Tomorrow'.

사랑하는 남자를 따라 오하이오로 이주할 준비를 하던 가나 이민자 출신의 사라는 어느 날 갑자기 사이가 소원하던 어머니가 사망 소식을 듣게 되고, 어머니가 운영하던 기독교 서점을 물려받게 된다. 장례를 가나식으로 치루기 위해 준비하며, 서점을 처분하려는 사라. 그러나 가나 출신 친척들과 서점 점원 핏과의 만남은 사라의 계획을 어긋나게 한다.
