Portraying the last days in the life of philosopher Walter Benjamin (1892–1940), whose writings such as The Work of Art in the Age of Mechanical Reproduction have become of seminal importance in cultural criticism, Ferraro not only deals with a historical and philosophically fascinating subject, but has also crafted a landscape film of immense beauty.

Fabrizio Ferraro’s homage to Saint Sebastian, subject of three paintings by the Italian early Renaissance master Andrea Mantegna, starts in the present day with colorful images of tourists in the ancient ruins of the Palatino and the Foro Romano in Rome. Suddenly we are transported to another dimension, now in black and white, the same place but another time, suggesting the film’s inherent circularity.

An extraordinary black comedy that explores the limits of survival and absurdist political power games. The story takes place in times of elections in Mexico. A candidate for Governor runs over a pregnant migrant. After the accident, and to avoid a possible scandal, he hides her in a building he owns. Pressured by his political boss and so as not to ruin his political career, the candidate evicts the migrant. In a non-realistic style, the film focuses on the stories that surround the migrant during her search for a room. A radical film, with a critical gaze, that reflects the spirit of contemporary Mexican society.

Maria suffers from Alzheimer's disease. Luis, Maria's fifteen-year-old grandson, doesn't say very much either; he shuts himself off in his own silent world to escape his parent's marital crisis, spending time instead picking up stray cats and dogs off the street. His father, Miguel, wants to put a stop to this eccentric behavior, but his protective mother Alice indulges him. Nevertheless, the animals begin to appear at home in increasing numbers, making life complicated for the family in their flat.

“Cinéclub” is the story of a small art and rehearsal cinema. The cinema dies with all its workers: the projectionist, the blockbuster, the viewers...One of the few spectators of this little film falls for the blockbuster, which feels no interest in it. The decay of this relationship parallels the decline of the theater, which is disappearing in absolute silence, always empty, apparently without any future, but perhaps they can find a way out.

The movie is filmed as if it were a Mandala, Sanskrit term which designates the symbolic circular diagrams characteristic of Hindu and Buddhist thought. Performer and co-writer is the Jinpa Gyamtso Lama, born in Terrassa, a monk since 1989 and director of several Tibetan Buddhist centers in Spain. The camera accompanies a group of friends who emerge from their retreat to take a trip to India. There, the seemingly unalterable everyday life show not being an impediment to personal searches.
