광활한 대지에 덩그러니 놓인 외딴집에서는 비밀스러운 은둔자(빌 스카스고드)의 면접이 이뤄진다. 그 대상은 아직 생명을 갖지 못한 다섯 영혼들. 그는 9일간(nine days)의 면접 끝에 한 영혼을 뽑아 삶을 부여해주려고 한다.

It's spring 1984. Doug's only concerned with the newest Star Trek movie and escaping high school as quick as he can, when he's faced with his worst nightmare: Prom. Noisy crowds, loud music, a pushy sister and bullies, all in one place. To make matters worse, there's a horrific mutant monster trying to eat as many kids as it can.
