세상에서 가장 악명높은 정치범 수용소인 에빈 감옥에서 출생한 배우 마리엄은 자신의 출생을 둘러싼 시대적 상황을 추적한다. 1980년대의 이란의 종교적 리더였던 아야톨라 호메이니는 수 만명의 정치적 반대자들을 체포하고 고문하고 살인했다. 마리엄의 부모님 역시 이러한 정치사범이었고 감옥에서의 복역 이후에 간신히 독일로 망명했다. 마리엄의 부모님은 자신들의 수감 생활과 고문에 대해 이야기하기를 거부하지만, 마리엄은 수십년의 침묵을 깨고 그녀 자신이 가지고 있던 질문을 탐색하기 시작한다. (2019년 제16회 서울국제사랑영화제)
