페이는 애인 샤오레이와 함께 살면서, 성매매로 돈을 벌어 시골에 사는 가족들의 생계를 책임지고 있다. 어느 날 페이가 고객에게 심한 성폭행을 당하자 샤오레이는 그를 찾아가 폭력을 행사한다. 하지만 그 부하들이 보복을 위해 샤오레이를 찾아오고, 페이는 샤오레이를 뒤로 하고 도망친다. 5년 뒤, 페이는 다른 도시로 이주하여 잘나가는 접대부로 살고 있다. 고향에서 무작정 도시로 상경한 어린 시절의 친구 롱과 페이의 관계는, 이전의 페이와 샤오레이의 관계와 어딘지 닮아있다. (제26회 부산국제영화제)

Together with the filmmaker, they go through a “deconstruction of memory” process, via procedures such as intimate video diaries, exercises inspired from family constellations, re-enactments of key memories and dreams, in an attempt to make sense of their explosive relationship.
