터키정부의 쿠르드족 반군 소탕작전으로 체포된 바란(세네르 센 분)이 35년의 기다긴 형기를 마치고 출소한다. 체포될 당시 친구 베르포(우구르 유젤)의 밀고로 반군들은 모두 체포되고 오랜 감옥생활로 대부분이 죽고 없다. 홀로 나온 바란이 본 세상은 너무나 많이 변해 있었다. 고향은 댐공사로 수몰되어 있었고 약혼녀 케제(세르민 휴메릭 분)는 밀고자의 원치않는 아내가 되어 있었다. 바란은 밀고자 베르포가 살고 있다는 이스탄불로 복수하기 위해 간다. 기차안에서 쿠말리(우구르 유젤 분)를 사람을 만나게 함께 이스탄불을 향하지만 예상치 못한 일에 휘말리게 되는데…
