On Yonaguni Island, the westernmost island of Japan, there is a language in danger of disappearing. How far can we take the language, culture and history that are being quietly forgotten at the edge of Japan? A semi-documentary fantasy full of life force.
Contemplative and almost without dialogues, the film shows the routine of inhabitants in a city: a young woman who lives alone; an eldery that lives in the street, next to the river; a police officer; customers in a bar; two students. Little by little, through flashbacks, the plot connects these characters.

‘란덴’이라 불리는 작은 전차가 운행 중인 교토의 작은 동네. 기차에 관한 글을 쓰는 에이세이는 직접 마을을 찾아 란덴에 관한 이야기들을 취재한다. 한편 식당 점원 가코는 영화 촬영장에 도시락 배달을 갔다가 우연히 주연 배우 요시다의 사투리 지도를 맡기로 한다.
