Summer 2031, 104°. Saadia, 16, is in mechanical school although the car industry is in crisis and there are only a few electric cars in circulation. Her friends, Charly and Titi, throw a joke to cheer her up: what if the car of the future was a horse? Against all odds, Saadia trades her scooter for a massive workhorse which she brings back to the heart of her housing project.

Two sisters, aged 5 and 8, hang out alone at home in the middle of the countryside. Elsa, the youngest, swallows three grains of coarse salt. Judith announces to her that she’s doomed to a death by desiccation, and she only has a few hours to live. The mother returns, behaving ardently and feverishly, and turns the family's destiny upside down.

Getting away, that's the only thing that's real. For Manue, here there's nothing to hope for, whereas in America everything is possible. On the next pier, a container ship is heading for Massachusetts and they're looking for sailors. Gaffia agrees to hold Manue's hand for the long voyage.
