현금 인출기 파손죄로 법원으로부터 8개월의 가택연금을 선고받은 주인공 카일리는 부모님이 살고 있는 집으로 호송된다. 함께 살게 된 카일리를 견딜 수 없게 하는 사람은 집에 귀신이 살고 있다고 믿는 수다쟁이 엄마인데, 어느 날부터 카일리의 귀에도 이상한 소리들이 들리기 시작한다. 계속해서 들리는 소리에 카일리는 이웃집 남자를 의심하게 되고 급기야 가택연금 집행관과 함께 이웃집 잠입을 시도하지만 특별히 이상한 점은 발견하지 못한다. 그러던 어느 날 부모님의 집이 예전에는 여관이었다는 사실을 알게 되고 수상한 자료들을 발견하게 되면서 집에 대한 비밀이 서서히 밝혀지기 시작하는데…
