Photographer Dong is planning a photo exhibition, but he has no photographs that he is proud of. His grandmother call him falsely claiming that she was ill and needed Dong to come home. It turned out that his mother had been released from prison that day. Dong spent his childhood in the mockery of his classmates and was full of resentment against his mother. After going through a struggle in dealing with his relationship with his mother, Dong experienced the missing maternal love for the first time and recorded the whole process with his camera.

두 아이의 아빠 다니엘은 회사일에만 매달리는 일벌레이다. 가족에게는 무관심하던 그가 어느날 부인이 아픈 관계로 동네 아이들을 학교에 내려주는 카풀을 하게 된다. 아이들의 극성에 시달리면서 학교로 향하던 중 우연히 그의 광고주 상점에 들르게 되는데. 한편 프랭클린은 마음이 여리디 여린, 유희시설 임대사업을 하는 사람이다. 사업이 망해 법원에 모든 것을 뺏긴 그는 직원들의 월급을 주기위해 강도사건을 계획한다. 1차 시도에 실패하고 우연히 들른 가게에서 이들은 운명의 만남을 갖는데. 이 상점에는 마침 2인의 진짜 강도가 범행을 하려고 하고 있었다. 이들의 범행순간에 현장에 있던 프랭클린은 경찰에 의해 강도로 몰리고 본의 아니게 다니엘과 애들을 인질로 한채 도시를 누비며 경찰과 추격전을 벌이게 된다. 추격전이 계속되면서 다니엘은 가족의 소중함을 깨닫게 되고 프랭클린은 자신의 행동에 대해 뉘우치게 된다. 결국 모든 게 끝나고 다니엘은 그날로 예정되었던 광고주와의 회의를 하게 되는데 이 자리에서 그는 자신이 준비했던 내용이 아닌 가족의 소중함과 어린애들을 대상으로 새 시장을 개척할 것을 건의하게 되고 사장이 이를 흔쾌히 받아들인다. 자신의 상점을 턴 프랭클린에게는 500시간의 사회봉사라는 가벼운 처벌을 주고.
