방글라데시의 어촌 마을에 사는 초로의 남성 모주는 오늘도 체력 단련에 매진한다. 방글라데시 전통 스포츠인 볼리는 일종의 레슬링인데, 모주는 마을에 사는 볼리 챔피언 도포르에게 선전 포고를 한다. 마을 사람들은 모주가 미쳤다고 비웃고, 모주의 아들 샤푸는 모주를 가두어 경기에 나가지 못하게 막고자 하나, 모주와 도포르의 한 판 승부는 피할 길이 없다.
