장 비고(Jean Vigo: 제임스 프레인 분)는 대학을 졸업하고 결핵을 치료하기 위해 푸레니스(Piremess)에 있는 요양소에 들어간다. 그는 요양소에서 제라드와 리두를 만난다. 요양소 감독관 제라드(Gerard)는 환자들을 '돈이나 내는 돼지'로 여기는 사람이다. 또 2년 동안 요양소에서 지낸 리두(Lydu)는 미래에 대해 아무 희망 없이 오로지 담당 의사에게 의지해 살아가는 여인이다. 그런 리두에게 장은 반하고 삶에 대한 희망과 즐거움을 일깨워 주려고 노력한다. 장 비고는 대학을 졸업하고 결핵을 치료하기 위해 요양소에 들어간다. 그는 리두라는 여성을 만나는데 요양소에서 몇 해를 보낸 그녀는 미래에 대해 별다른 희망없이 사는 상태다. 장은 리두에게 사랑을 느끼고 두 사람은 담당의사의 반대에도 불구하고 결혼해 신혼살림을 꾸린다. 평소 영화를 만들겠다는 야심을 품고있던 장은 친구들의 도움으로 첫 작품을 발표하지만 영화가 상영되는 극장안은 온통 아수라장이 된다. 관객들로부터 "3류감독"이라는 비난을 받게 된 것. 실망한 장에게 리두는 따스한 애정으로 용기를 불어넣고 장 비고는 계속해서 작품활동에 전력을 쏟게 된다. 장은 옥사한 아버지에 대한 강박관념과 어머니가 어렸을 적에 자신을 버렸다는 피해망상에 시달리고 세인들은 장 비고를 미치광이라며 비웃는다. 어려운 생활과 관객들의 비난에 맞서 장은 영화를 제작하지만 이번엔 상영불가 판정과 검열의 덫이 그를 조여든다. 리두는 잠시 장의 곁을 떠나고 장은 어머니와 화해한 뒤 정신적 평온을 얻는다. '채널4'를 비롯해 영국과 스페인 등이 합작한 은 천재감독 장 비고의 일대기를 영화로 옮긴 작품. 장 비고는 와 등으로 프랑스 영화계가 낳은 최고의 '시인'으로 대접받았으며 후에 누벨바그 감독들에게도 적지 않은 영향력을 행사했던 장본인이다. 하지만 요절한 대부분의 예술가들이 그렇듯이, 장 비고의 삶 또한 궁핍했으며 재능있는 자를 질시하는 세인들로부터 손가락질 받았다.

A British Government Minister puts forward a bill to battle filth in the UK but that doesn't stop him having an affair with both his secretary, Miss Parkyn and Wendy, the wife of a high-up reporter. Opponents to the bill - mainly some hippy girls, lead by Johnny, kidnap the Minister's best friend and co-founder of the bill, Barry Ovis just as he was getting married to his fiancee, Joan. Barry escapes, just before the police raid the hippies hiding place - to claim that Ovis was in a orgy and get the bill defeated - and dashes back to his and Joan's flat followed by Inspector Ruff, who is investigating the kidnap and Damina, one of the hippies. Meanwhile, the Minister is also trying to use the flat to carry on his affairs with both Wendy and Miss Parkyn. The Minister, Barry & Joan tries to keep the truth from Ruft, Wilfred Potts, an old and honest MP, Birdie, the Minister's wife and stop the hippies, and this causes no end of trouble.

세계적인 초콜릿과 과자 재벌 윌리 윙커(Willy Wonka: 진 와일더 분)는 어느날 100개의 초콜릿 상자 속에 단 5개의 황금 티켓을 넣어 발매하였다는 발표를 한다. 티켓을 찾아낸 어린이들은 평생 동안 웡카 초콜릿을 무상으로 공급받을 수 있고, 비밀에 싸인 웡카 공장의 견학을 할 수 있는 자격이 생긴다. 온세계는 웡카 열풍에 휩싸이고, 어른이며 애며 할 것없이 웡카 초콜릿을 박스째로 사다가 뜯어본다. 한반 아이들은 평균 수백개의 초콜릿을 사본 경험이 있을 정도로 대 인기를 얻은 이벤트가 되었다. 하지만, 집이 가난한 찰리(Charlie: 피터 오스트럼 분)는 친조부모와 외조부모, 그리고 혼자된 어머니를 모시고 살며, 가족의 끼니 걱정을 하는 어린이이다. 수백개의 상자를 뜯고 있는 사람들의 모습은 찰리에겐 너무나도 먼 일이지만, 할머니와 할아버지들은 어렵게 모은 돈으로 찰리에게 웡카 초콜릿을 선물한다. 헛된 꿈을 키우는 것을 원치않는 찰리의 어머니는 반대하지만, 겉으로 내색않는 찰리에게도 남들의 이야기는 마냥 부럽다. 영국, 미국, 독일 등지에서 황금 티켓을 가진 어린이들이 나타난다. 마지막 한개의 티켓은 남미의 어느 나라에서 발견되고 찰리에게는 더 이상 별다른 희망이 없다. 길을 걷다가 커다란 은화를 발견한 찰리는 먹고 싶던 초콜릿을 두 개 산다. 하나는 자신을 위해 하나는 할아버지(Grandpa Joe: 잭 알버트슨 분)를 위해. 그때, 남미에서 발견된 황금 티켓이 위조된 것이라는 뉴스 발표가 나온다. 찰리는 할아버지를 위해 남겨둔 마지막 초콜릿 포장을 뜯고. 그 안에 든 것은 이제 전 세계에 단 하나 남은 황금티켓. 한명의 동반자만을 허용한다는 웡카 회사의 이야기를 들은 찰리는 할아버지와 함께 가기로 하고, 공장 견학의 날, 다섯 어린이들은 각자의 부모와 함께 공장앞에 모인다. 윌리 웡카가 안내하는 초콜릿 공장. 어린이들은 이제껏 어디서도 본 적 없는 꿈과 환상의 세계에 들어가게 되는데.

But he takes an opportunity to observe the upper class of 1900 Paris - Monsieur Boniface with a domineering wife, and the next-door neglectful husband Henri with a beautiful but ignored wife Marcelle. Henri traces architectural anomalies (most ghost sounds are drains), and plans a night at the Hotel Paradiso; but this hotel is the assignation spot of Marcelle and Boniface. One wife, two husbands, a nephew, and the perky Boniface maid, all at this 'by the hour' hotel, and consummation of the affair is, to say the least, severely compromised (not the least by a police raid). All of this under Feydeau's eye, and his play is the 'success fou' of the next season.
