Background
싱어송라이터 알리사 로빈스의 실제 삶에서 영감을 받은 영화 〈벡스〉는 오랫동안 사랑했던 여자친구와 아프게 헤어진 뒤 세인트루이스에 있는 고향 집으로 돌아간 주인공 벡스를 쫓는다. 그녀는 돈을 벌고자 마을 술집에서 공연을 하고 독실한 가톨릭 신자인 엄마와의 관계를 회복 하려고 애쓰면서 학창시절 앙숙이었던 친구의 부인과 독특한 우정을 쌓는다. 벡스는 전 애인과, 그들의 이별에 관한 매우 사적인 노래들을 부르면서 그녀의 음악적 목소리를 발견한다. (2018년 제14회 제천국제음악영화제)
