모든 것은 그곳에서 시작되었다. “하얀 마스크를 쓴 여자가 아이를 납치한다.” “마스크를 벗기면 입이 귀까지 찢어져 있다.” 27년 전, 일본 열도를 공포로 몰아넣은 [입 찢어진 여자] 소문이 다시 나고야 근처 한 교외 마을에서 퍼지고 있었다. 그러던 어느 날, 그 소문이 사실인지를 확인하기 위해 공원에서 [입 찢어진 여자]의 출현을 기다리고 있던 한 소년이 사라지는 사건이 발생하는데… “입 찢어진 여자가 나타났다!” 아이들을 비롯한 마을 사람들은 일제히 패닉 상태에 빠지고, 이에 따라 초등학교는 집단 하교를 시키기 위해 학부모들이 아이들을 데리러 나오도록 조치를 내린다. 초등학교 교사인 야마시타 교코(사토 에리코)는 자신이 담임을 맡고 있는 학생 미카(쿠와나 리에)를 집 앞까지 바래다 주는데, 미카는 엄마를 보자마자 도망쳐 버린다. 집에 들어가고 싶지 않다는 미카와 같이 이야기를 나누던 교코는 미카의 “엄마 따위 싫어!”라는 말에 자신도 모르게 화를 내고, 그 목소리에 놀란 미카는 교코를 벗어나려다 [입 찢어진 여자]를 만나 납치를 당한다. 드디어, 그녀가 진실의 입을 연다!! 한편, 교쿄의 동료 교사 마츠자키 노보루(가토 하루히코)는 2건의 납치 사건이 일어날 때 마다 자신만이 들을 수 있는 이상한 목소리를 듣는다. 무언가를 숨기고 있는 마츠자키와 함께 교쿄는 사라진 미카를 찾아 나서고, 그들이 도착한 곳에는 두려운 과거와 경악할만한 진실이 기다리고 있는데…

As his relationship with them deepens, Kenji finds it harder and harder to accept the old world he comes from. One day, he punches his boss and quits his job. Now a proper member of Ryoichi's team, it's the start of a new and carefree life for him. However, it is short-lived. The clothes they make do not sell as well as they hoped for. Short on cash, energy, and ideas, the negative feedback loop forces each of them to start struggling in a search for alternative paths.
