The New York-based filmmaker, Olya Schechter, obtains unprecedented access to military bases and front line battles to paint an intimate portrait of the complex and fascinating nature of a man walking the tightrope that often comes to the morality of war: is Deki a solder or a killer?

브룩클린은 뉴욕에서 가장 많은 인구와 가장 오랜 역사를 자랑하는 도시로써 뉴욕인들의 향수를 자극하는 곳이다. 비니(빅터 아르고)는 그 곳에서 19년째 담배 가게를 해왔는데 이제 별로 돈벌이가 되지 않는 가게를 부동산 업자에게 팔기로 결심한다. 그런데 오랜 세월 동안 가게를 지켜온 오기(하비 카이틀)는 비니에게 담배 가게는 브룩클린 사람들의 정신적 쉼터와 같다며 가게를 닫지 말 것을 부탁한다. 오랜 고민과 갈등 끝에 비니는 결국 가게를 닫지 않기로 결정한다. 이에 따라 가게는 다시 브룩클린 사람들의 추억을 만들어가는 장소가 된다.
