종교와 인종에 관계없이 믿음을 주제로 한 영화로 부담 없이 즐길 수 있는 작품. 스크린 가득히 퍼져나오는 인간애와 믿음에 관한 질문과 대답은 이 작품이 훌륭하다거나 최고라는 느낌을 주지는 않는다. 다만 인간 본질의 신념을 얘기한 볼만한 작품으로 여겨질뿐. 이 영화는 로드무비는 아니다. 하지만 바람에 흩날리는 갈대처럼 길이 놓인 곳이면 어디든 떠날 것 같은 주인공 스미스의 연기가 로드무비를 연상케한다. 이 영화는 공간의 미가 흠뻑 살아있고, 테마 음악 "Amen"이 잔잔한 감동으로 전해온다. 시드니 포이티어가 아카데미 남우주연상을 수상함으로써, 흑인으로는 최초로 아카데미 주연상을 수상한 작품이다. 당시 38세의 나이로 진솔하고 깔끔한 연기를 끄집어내 흑인이 아닌 이들로부터도 폭넓은 관심을 끌게 된다. 이로써 아프리카계 미국인의 이미지가 조금씩 향상된 계기를 마련하게 된다. 자유로운 몸이 된 퇴역군인 '호머 스미스'는 아리조나를 여행하던 중 다섯명의 수녀를 만나게 된다. 그들이 동독을 탈출한 도망자들이며 영어를 할 줄 모른다는 것을 알게 되지만 하루 동안의 노동을 제의하고 수녀들도 받아들이게 되는데, 그러나 일이 끝났을 때 수녀들은 급여를 주는 대신 음식과 따뜻한 마음을 전하고, '호머'는 감동을 받아 정착해 그들을 돕기로 결심한다. 마을 사람들이 그를 보고 비웃었지만 '호머'는 묵묵히 예배방을 짓기 위해 일했고 감동받은 사람들도 그를 도와주게 된다.

The Walt Disney Christmas Show is a Christmas television special, originally broadcast on Christmas Day of 1951. The then-upcoming Disney film Peter Pan is promoted in this special, as is an upcoming reissue of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

George Geef rushes to the office to inform his fellow employees, "Hey, fellas! I'm a father!". Unfortunately, Geef later learns that, with fatherhood, comes responsibility and lots of it. He must discipline his son when he starts fighting with neighboring kids, filling his pipe with bubble water, and pestering him while he tries to read the newspaper. But most difficult of all is getting him to pick up his toys which is no easy task. Finally, he gets ready to apply hair brush to child's behind but is talked out of it when he sees his son sleeping peacefully. "Kids, they're wonderful," he concludes.

Josh is a young boy who feels neglected and misunderstood at home. Preparing to run away, he chances across an old diary once kept by his grandfather. Leafing through the yellowed pages, Josh discovers that Grandpa went through many of the same childhood travails that he is enduring at that moment. The (O)ffice of (S)trategic (S)ervices' Cmdr. Brady (Patric Knowles) forms Operation "Applejack" (based on a composite of actual incidents during WWII) and sends Lt. (j.g.) Philip Masson, U.S.N.R. aka John Martin as spy Philippe Martine (Alan Ladd) along with Miss Ellen Rogers posing as her college roommate, Madame Elaine Duprez (Geraldine Fitzgerald) and Robert Bouchet, Tech Sgt., A.U.S. as Albert Bernardito (Richard Benedict) to acquire secret Nazi plans. After nearly getting caught they succeed and get new identities. However they discover a secret that could change the war and risk their lives to get the information back to London before it jeopardizes their lives. Martine and Duprez then get reassigned to assist fellow spy Frank Schmidt aka Parker (Richard Webb) embedded in the German army so he can relay important Nazi troop movements. Then she is discovered by an old foe, Col. Paul Meister (John Hoyt) but Martine must radio the vital information and misses her.

A young American soldier, with an honorable discharge, returns home from World War II to his bride, whom he married after a short courtship and has not seen for several years. The two come together with many trials and tribulations in trying to preserve their marriage in the post-war years.

A soldier survives a bombing in which his three fellow soldiers were killed. When he recovers he discovers he has amnesia, and since his companions' bodies were burned beyond recognition, the army doesn't know which one of the four he is. He goes AWOL and searches out the families of the three dead soldiers, hoping to find out his own identity.

Having been falsely court marshaled for cowardice and sentenced to prison by the Army, Jed Kilton escapes and heads to Nevada Springs to see his kid brother. There he meets his old school friend Sam Ballou. But the two old friends soon find themselves on opposite sides and Sam has Jed arrested. Then when Jed's young brother sees one of Sam's men kill another man, the boy becomes Sam's intended victim.
