Masao Imafuku

In the early morning of January 17, 1995, the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake struck, and Tadao Furuichi (Hidekazu Akai), who was running a camera store in Kobe City, lost his friends, his house, and his property. Tadao is busy volunteering for the reconstruction of the town, and one day he comes across his own golf bag that survived the earthquake. Feeling a miracle, Tadao decides to challenge the professional golf test before he turns 60.

명망있는 의사 유키오(모토키 마사히로)는 아버지에게 물려받은 병원과 아름다운 아내 링(료)을 두고 행복한 생활을 누린다. 그에게 한 가지 걱정이 있다면 링이 기억상실증에 걸려 과거를 전혀 기억하지 못하는 것. 어머니는 그것 때문에 링을 서먹하게 대하지만 유키오는 링을 사랑한다. 그러나 그녀가 집에 오면서부터 집안에는 어두운 그림자가 드리우기 시작한다. 집과 병원에 이상한 냄새가 진동하더니 결국은 유키오의 아버지가 죽음을 당한다. 어머니마저 갑자기 죽자 유키오는 집안에 누군가가 숨어 있다고 생각하는데, 어느 날 자신을 덮치는 그림자에 의해 우물에 갇힌다. 그는 유키오의 쌍둥이 형제인 스테키치(츠스이 야스타카), 스테키치는 유키오처럼 행동하고 링은 스테키치와 관련된 자신의 기억을 되찾기 시작한다.

군마현이라는 지방의 자치단체에서 자본을 출자해 만든 작품. 이전 작품에 비해 밝은 모습의 영화다. 산 사이로 강이 흐르는 시골 마을 히토스지의 어느 농가에 남미에서 산을 타다 사고를 당한 타 쿠지가 무의식 상태로 누워있다. 타쿠지의 친구 카미 무라는 어렸을 때 타쿠지와 함께 놀았던 오두막 을 찾곤 한다. 한편 마을 어귀의 바에서 일하는 동남아 여자들 중 티아라는 여인이 있는데 그녀 는 일본에 오기 전 홍수로 아들을 잃었다. 계절이 바뀌면서 마을 사람들이 티아에 대해 알게될 즈음 티아는 타쿠지를 알게 된다. 여름이 오고 결국 타쿠지는 죽는데, 티아는 망자의 세계에서 산자를 부르는 소리인 마쯔 가제 공연을 보고나서 혼자 숲으로 걸어가 그날 밤을 버려진 오두막에 서 보낸다. 한편, 타쿠지의 오랜 친구인 키무라는 만월을 바라보다가 타쿠지 의 영혼이 산으로 돌아왔다고 느끼고 새벽에 산으로 올라간다. 오두막 에서 만난 둘은 벌써 오래전에 마른 것으로 알고 있던 샘에서 나는 물소리를 듣는다.

A man working in a fish market is crazy about festivals.

This appears to be a labor of love. Its about a village which is given the opportunity to put on a musical. They would have to pay the overhead and, being that they are farmers and always busy and not rich, question the wisdom and feasibility of such an idea. A spokesperson for the acting troupe Ms. Kono lays out the whole thing and they must decide. You get little slices of rural life in Japan far, at least in sentiment, from Tokyo. The best thing about this film is that it has heart. The acting is good, but it is really about the simple storyline of outing on a show. Films rarely get made with such simplistic plots these days. Enjoy this little slice of what city people call “the simple life”.

오키나와의 아즈미 공주는 도시가 거대 괴수에 의해 멸망하는 끔찍한 환상을 목격한다. 한편, 동굴 탐험가인 시미즈 마사히코에 의해 알 수 없는 금속이 발견되고, 금속은 미야지마 교수에게 인계되어 조사된다. 한편 마사히코의 동생인 시미즈 케이스케가 이끄는 발굴단은 '검은 구름이 산 위에 나타나 세상을 멸망시킨다.'는 불길한 예언이 그려진 방과 벽화가 우연히 발견하고, 케이스케는 고고학자인 사이고 카네시로와 함께 예언서를 번역한 결과, 예언서의 내용과 동굴에서 발견된 조각상은 오키나와에 존재했던 전설의 괴물, 킹 시사와 관련되어 있던 것이 확인된다. 그때 갑자기 괴한이 카네시로의 집에 침입하여 킹 시사의 조각상을 탈취하려 하지만 시미즈 마사히코와 격투를 벌인 끝에 조각상 탈취를 실패하고 결국 도주한다. 머지않아 검은 구름이 산처럼 형성되고, 고지라가 후지산에 등장하면서 날뛰기 시작한다[스포일러]. 갑자기 안기라스가 등장하면서 고지라의 팔을 할퀴자, 고지라의 상처에서 금속이 살짝 드러난다. 그러자 고지라는 안기라스의 턱을 찢어서 안기라스를 제압하고, 싸움에서 진 안기라스는 결국 도망친다.

한 젊은 남자가 유력 재계 인사를 살해한 뒤 스스로 목숨을 끊는 사건이 벌어진다. 사건 이후 남자의 여동생은 오빠의 유언을 따라 기타 잇키 교수의 집을 찾아간다. 그는 일본 사회의 근본적인 변화를 주장하는 기타 교수의 주장에 큰 영향을 받았던 것이다. 1936년 실제로 일어났던 2.26 쿠데타를 기타 잇키의 시점으로 재구성한 작품으로 요시다 기주의 정치적 관점을 엿볼 수 있다.
