어느 날 하늘에서 거대한 우주선이 지구를 향해 내려오고, 오공과 크리링은 우주선에 생명반응이 있다는 말을 듣고 우주선의 궤도를 비껴내서 지구와 정면충돌하는 걸 막는다. 그러나 그 우주선에서 슬라그(혹은 슬러그)라는 사악한 나메크 성인이 지구를 자신들의 우주선으로 만들기 위해 쳐들어오고, 손오반이 가지고 있던 4성구를 보고 드래곤볼의 존재를 기억하고 전부 다 모아 영원한 젊음을 얻은 뒤에 지구를 어둠에 빠지게 만든다. 이에 Z전사들이 맞서 싸우는데...
