A maladjusted L.A. man named Henry Pinkle becomes suicidal when his favorite sitcom is cancelled. His plan to kill himself is thwarted by the mysterious Sam Bones, who promises to make Henry a star with the aid of a baby mask and hatchet.

During routine maintenance of a liquid-fuelled ICBM, the fuel tank is penetrated by a falling spanner. The film traces the efforts of the maintenance crew and associated military and civilian personnel to recover the potentially disastrous situation before the fuel tank is sufficiently depressurised that the stack collapses and explodes.

Three hopefuls -- Shanna Reed, Deborah Geffner and Maureen Teefy -- each wants to be a Radio City Music Hall Rockette, vying for the one open spot the hall's choreographer, Gwen Verdon (in her TV-movie debut), has to fill. Sheree North plays Geffner's ex-Rockette mother and John Heard is a magazine reporter who falls for each of the aspiring dancers. The film was shot partially at Radio City Music Hall and was given a single public showing there several nights before its television premiere.

뉴욕의 예술 고등학교를 배경으로 스타가 되기를 꿈꾸는 학생들의 삶과 갈등을 그린 뮤지컬 영화이다. 코코(이렌느 카라)를 비롯한 예술 고등학교의 학생들은 뚜렷한 목표의식 없이 그저 화려한 스타의 모습을 동경한다. 코코도 스타가 되기 위해 노력하지만 생각처럼 쉽게 인기를 얻지 못한다. 하지만 꿈을 버리지 않고 재능을 발휘하는 노력을 계속한다. 그러면서 학생들은 목표를 찾는다. 화려한 무대 뒤에 감추어진 젊은이들의 숨은 노력과 땀으로 이룬 결실을 보여주는 영화이다.

1941년 12월 7일, 일본 제국주의 함대(the Imperial Japanese Fleet)가 진주만(Pearl Harbor)의 해군기지를 기습한다. 그로 인해 미국은 제2차 세계대전에 휘말리게 된다. 미국 시민들은 이에 충격과 분노를 느끼게 되고 서해안 지역에서는 캘리포니아주가 일본의 제2의 공격 목표란 소문이 떠돌면서 시민들이 공포에 시달리게 된다. 조셉 스틸웰 장군(Major General Joseph W. Stilwell)은 제3육군부대 사령관으로 남부 캘리포니아 지역의 방위 책임자다. 육군과 해군, 대공 포대는 작전에 돌입하고 민간 방위체제도 활동을 개시한다. 남북전쟁 이후 최초로 미국 시민들은 언제 어디서 어떤 규모로 공격해 올 지 모르는 적을 상대로 조국을 지키기 위해 전투에 임하게 된다.
