UFC Fight Night: Poirier vs. Johnson is a mixed martial arts event produced by the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) held on September 17, 2016 at State Farm Arena in Hidalgo, Texas.

The Ultimate Fighting Championship returns to the TD Garden in Boston on Sunday, January 17, 2016, as T.J. Dillashaw defends his bantamweight title against former champion Dominick Cruz in the main event. In the co-headliner, Roufusport star Anthony Pettis squares off with two-time Bellator MMA champion Eddie Alvarez in a pivotal battle at 155 pounds. Meanwhile, a heavyweight clash pitting Travis Browne against Matt Mitrione and a lightweight tilt pairing “The Ultimate Fighter” Season 9 winner Ross Pearson with Francisco Trinaldo fills out the main card. Welterweight veterans Patrick Cote and Ben Saunders will lock horns to highlight the undercard, along with a showdown between flashy lightweight strikers Paul Felder and Daron Cruickshank.

The event was at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. A lightweight bout between former WEC & UFC Lightweight champion Benson Henderson and Michael Johnson was initially linked as the event headliner. However on May 15, a welterweight bout between Jake Ellenberger and Stephen Thompson, originally booked for a day earlier at UFC 189, was announced as the main event. Although never officially announced by the UFC, the bout between Henderson and Johnson did not take place at this event. The final of The Ultimate Fighter: American Top Team vs. Blackzilians took place at the event. Márcio Alexandre Jr. was scheduled to face George Sullivan at the event. However, Alexandre pulled out of the fight during the week leading up to the event citing a rib injury and was replaced by promotional newcomer Dominic Waters.
