관동 최대 야쿠자 조직 산노카이는 가토 회장체제하에 세를 불려 이제는 정재계에 영향력을 끼칠만큼 거대해졌다. 가토의 신임을 받는 조직의 2인자 이시하라는 실력주의를 외치며 고참간부들을 홀대하면서 조직내 분위기가 뒤숭숭해진 와중에 산노카이를 수사하던 형사와 현직 장관의 애인이 살해되는 사건이 터지자 경찰은 너무 거대해진 조직을 처리하기로 한다. 부패경찰 카타오카는 산노카이를 견제하기 위해 조직내 불만세력과 관서 최대조직 하나비시카이, 그리고 죽었다고 알려졌지만 살아있는 오오토모를 이용한 음모를 꾸미기 시작한다.

Onna Hitori Daichi wo Yuku (A Lonely Woman in a Lonely Land, Kinuta Production, 1953) was the second feature film directed by Kamei Fumio, who is known as a master of documentary films, and followed his “Haha Nareba Onna Nareba(Become a Mother, Become a Woman)” (1952).
