The story begins in a register office where Malavika (Nandana) waits for her lover Anand(Krishna) to come and register their marriage. She is accompanied by photographer Joji (Kunchako Boban) to cover the function. But when Anand does not turn up Malavika is forced to go with Joji. Taking sympathy on her, Joji helps her to get a hotel room, which leads to more trouble for them.

Ganesh comes from village to meet his uncle and his daughter Ammu. His uncle refuses to acknowledge his presence and does not want his daughter to get married with him. He meets his friends who are living in bad condition to achieve their dreams.

Rebellious Arivu (Manoj) -- who's incessantly at odds with his father -- shocks his family with his gallantry in this unconventional romantic drama. Forced to attend a wedding with his parents, Arivu graciously offers to marry Savitri (Richa Pallod) when the groom is a no-show. A forest smuggle, lives in the jungle and smuggles sandalwood. He is also involved with other anti-social behaviour and forest controlling activities like robberies, dacoity, murders and drug pedalling. He consequently kidnaps an electrician Rahul and takes him to the jungle, forcing him to teach him how to make explosives. Rahul refuses to help create bombs and is subsequently falsely accused of murder. The rest of the story is about how Rahul proves his innocence to police investigators

Udayapuram Sulthan movie tells Avittam Thirunal Narayana Varma( Narendra Prasad) who is the former Ruler and a loving grandfather. His daughter Malavika Thampuratti (Ambika) had at one time walked out of the palace after falling in love with Abdul Rahman (Captain Raju) who is crippled in the ensuing clash with her brothers. Sulaiman (Dileep) who has been nurtured in Carnatic classical music by his mother. Sulaiman is persuaded to go to his grandfather's palace to attend an important religious ceremony to remove the impediments to the marriage of the ruler's grand daughter Gopika (Preetha Vijayakumar). Gopika falls for the charm of Sulaiman, alias Unnikrishnan. Finally, history repeats itself, but without real harm being done, when Malavika Thampuratti and Abdul Rahman come to claim their son. The ball is now in the court of the grandfather, whether Udyapuram Palace needs a Sultan or not.

Padayappa, a mechanical engineer whose father gives up his property to his foster brother, and then dies of shock soon after. Neelambari initially loves Padayappa, but plans to humiliate him after his family humiliates her father. The rest of the plot deals with Padayappa overcoming all the obstacles placed by Neelambari.

Dharma is a 1998 Tamil action film directed by Keyaar. The film features Vijayakanth and Preetha Vijayakumar in lead roles. The film, produced by A. Abbas Rowther, had musical score by Ilaiyaraaja and was released on 9 July 1998. The film is a remake of the Hindi film Ziddi. It was dubbed in Telugu as Vikram Dharma.
