제리, 폴, 믹 등은 철도청 소속의 노동자이다. 그런데 민영화 정책으로 인해 ‘회사’로 소속이 바뀐 이들은 강제로 휴직을 하거나 일터를 다른 곳으로 옮기는 등 큰 변화를 겪는다. 그리고 겨우 일자리를 지킨 이들은 훨씬 나빠진 노동 환경을 견뎌야 한다.
