주인공의 직업전반을 따라가며 노동의 과정을 열심히도 보여주는데 이 부분이 영화의 절반은 차지하는 것 같다. 특별한 의도나 효과를 노리고 있는 건 아니라서 다 들어내도 영화의 인상에 영향을 미치지는 않을 것 같아 보임. 우직하고 순박한 얀 트로엘의 리얼리즘.
Story
It's the mid 1930s and brakeman Kvist had enough of working on the train, jumps off and starts to walk on the train tracks in the middle of nowhere in Lapland, Northern Sweden, hoping to find new work and adventures. Based on the novella by famous Swedish author Eyvind Johnson.
Director
Gamla Stan (Old Town) is a Swedish short film from 1931 directed by Stig Almqvist, Erik Asklund, Eyvind Johnson and Artur Lundkvist. The film consists of an introductory poem read by Erik Asklund, as well as a series of images from the Old Town of Stockholm, which tells a story of a young woman and an unemployed husband.
