무녀의 마법에 의하여 평화를 유지해 온 우주에 악마의 화신인 스켈리터가 나타난다. 권력에 눈이 먼 그는 우연히 마법을 일으키는 우주 열쇠를 차지하게 된다. 그 덕분에 에테르니아의 그레이스컬 성을 함락시키나 그의 라이벌인 히맨을 생포하질 못한다. 또다른 열쇠를 만들까 두려워 스켈리터는 난쟁이 열쇠 제조자, 그윌터를 없애려 하지만 히맨과 근위대장 덩칸과 그의 딸 틸라가 구해준다. 그러자 그윌더는 숨겨놓았던 다른 열쇠를 히맨에게 보여주게 되고 이를 알아차린 스켈리터는 히맨과 그 열쇠를 찾아 심혈을 기울인다. 무녀를 구하려던 히맨과 그의 동료들은 교전끝에 실패하고 급한 나머지 다른 유성으로 피신하게 되는데 그 와중에 열쇠를 떨어뜨린다. 그 유성은 지구임이 드러나고 고등학교 여학생 줄리와 그의 애인 케빈이 그 열쇠를 발견하게 된다. 이상한 불빛과 소리를 발산하는 우주의 열쇠를 케빈은 음향기로 오인하고 지구까지 추적해 온 스켈리터 무리들이 거리에서 총격까지 불사하자 경찰관 루빅은 이들 모두를 체포하려 한다. 이들의 싸움이 지구에서 벌어지고 스켈리터는 마침내 히맨의 지구인 친구들을 위협하여 히맨과 열쇠를 모두 차지하여 아테르니아로 돌아간다. 이에 덩칸, 틸라, 줄리, 케빈, 루빅 등 모든 히맨의 친구들은 아테르니아로 가 히맨을 구하고 지구인들은 무사귀환하는데...

크립톤 성의 생존자들은 아르고 시티(Argo City)라는 물의 혹성에 살고 있다. 어느 날, 조각가인 잘타(Zaltar: 피터 오툴 분)가 몰래 잠시 가져온 그들의 에너지원인 '오메가 헤드론'이라는 신비의 광석을 가지고 장난하던 소녀 카라(Supergirl/Linda Lee: 헬렌 슬레이터 분)는 그만 그것을 우주로 날려버리는 실수를 한다. 책임을 느낀 그녀는 오메가 헤드론을 찾아 몰래 우주선을 탄다. 오메가 헤드론은 지구에 떨어지고, 이를 따라 지구에 도착한 카라는 슈퍼걸이 된다. 오메가 헤드론은 마녀 셀레나(Selena: 페이 다나웨이 분)의 손에 들어가고 그녀는 이것의 막강한 힘을 이용해 세계를 지배할 야심을 불태운다. 한편 카라는 '린다 리'라는 이름으로 지구의 소녀로 위장하여 여학교에 입학한 후 오메가 헤드론을 찾기 시작한다.

Nathaniel Williamsen is taken to an island mission with his fiancee Sophie. Their ship, the Rona, is captained by the roguish Bully Hayes, who also takes a liking to Sophie. When Sophie is kidnapped by slave trader Ben Pease "Nate" teams with Hayes in order to find her.
