특수 경찰 사이먼(Simon: 데니스 로드맨 분)은 에쉬톤의 감시에 여념이 없다. 에쉬톤은 첨단 무기 밀수입 등 검은 돈을 이용해 자신의 야심을 키우려는 악당. 계속되는 잠복근무 중에 사이몬은 우연히 자신의 옛 동료 닉(Nick: 데인 쿡 분)을 만나고. 그를 만난 후 5분만에 뜻하지 않은 음모속에 노출된다. 사설 탐정 닉은 납치된 미국 고관의 딸을 구해오라는 임무를 맡고 있으며 인질과 교환하려는 CD는 최근 개발된 휴대용 레이저의 암호를 푸는 장치. 레이저는 에펠탑을 폭파할 만큼 엄청난 위력을 지니고 있다. 사이먼의 활약으로 납치범이 에쉬톤임을 알게되지만 인질을 구하기 위해서는 CD를 넘겨줘야 하는데. 사이먼 일행은 불량 CD를 넘겨주고 인질범의 위치를 파악해 그녀를 구해낸다. 화가난 에쉬톤은 사이먼의 지하 비밀기지를 급습해 CD를 찾으려 하지만 허탕을 치고 다른 음모를 꾸민다. 제보를 받고 현장으로 출동한 사이먼은 음모를 알아 차리지만 때는 이미 늦고 CD는 에쉬톤의 손에 넘어간다. 에쉬톤은 CD로 레이저의 암호를 해제하고 엄청난 일을 꾸미는데.

정체를 알 수 없는 폐쇄된 공간, 왜 이런 폐쇄된 공간에 있는지 갇히게 되었는지도 모르는 여섯 사람이 주인공이다. 경찰관인 쿠엔틴, 수학 전공 학생 리븐, 자폐증이 있는 카잔, 탈옥 전문가 렌, 여의사 할로웨이, 그리고 이 미로와 자신과의 관계를 이야기하지 않으려는 남자 워스, 이들에게 주어진 과제는 어떻게 살아서 이 곳을 빠져 나갈 것인가 하는 것이다. 이 큐브들 안은 무수한 함정과 장치들이 있어서 미로를 빠져 나가려는 사람들을 죽게 한다. 뿐만 아니라 이 큐브의 외형을 설계한 주인공조차 누가 그리고 왜 이런 공간을 만들었는지조차 모른다. 절망한 그들 사이에서 리븐은 큐브 입구마다 새겨진 번호들의 공통점, 곧 솟수의 법칙을 발견한다. 그러나 그들이 솟수의 법칙에 따라 결국 도착한 곳은 그들이 처음으로 만났던 큐브이다. 왜 이런 일이 생겼는가 생각하던 그들은 큐브는 움직이고 있었다는 사실을 그제서야 깨닫는다. 17,576개의 큐브가 서서히 그 모습을 드러낸다. 더 이상 어떻게 해야 할 지 모르는 순간, 자폐증 증상으로 일행을 위험에 빠뜨리던 카잔이 큐브에 감추어진 마지막 단서를 발견한다.

The only person Lizette can find is Cheryl-Ann, a permanently happy, innocent waitress at the same donut shop, whom Lizette can't stand. When the night finally comes, things don't go as planned.

Diagnosed as having a brain tumor, seventeen-year-old Ryan is angrily resigned to the fact that he may not live to see another year. With time running out, he clings to two goals: publishing his journal and losing his virginity.
