Two young boys and a girl commit a diamond robbery on Halloween. During escape the girl is fatally shot. One of the boys knows a doctor (Jeremy London) who has a private clinic in his house. They decide to go to his house instead of the hospital where they will expect the police. They enter the house quietly with no drama. But when the doctor tells them she needs an ambulance to the hospital or else she will die, and his co-worker picks up the phone ready to call, the boys bring their guns out. The doctor along with his family are taken hostages, and the boys threaten him to save the girl if they all want to stay alive.

A group of friends on a road trip seek shelter at a mental institution in the woods, only to discover that the building is the home of a mysterious young girl named Roxy whose unsettling presence serves as a foreshadow of doom. Later, as the group attempt to unravel the mystery of Roxy, who seems to have endured years of abuse, a mysterious killer begins to hunt them from the darkness.

촬영 중 사라진 서부극 스타 하워드 스펜스 한때, 할리우드 서부영화를 주름잡던 거물급 스타 하워드 스펜스. 하지만 모두 과거의 영광일 뿐, 이젠 빛 바랜 인기에 기대고 있는 한물간 배우일 뿐이다. 여전히 술과 마약, 여자에 둘러싸여 방탕한 나날을 보내던 하워드. 그는 어느 날 갑자기 촬영 중인 영화를 뒤로하고 말도 없이 사라진다. 입고 있던 옷도 버리고 신용카드 마저 없앤 그가 향한 곳은 바로 고향이었다. 서부 어딘가 나의 아이가 자라고 있다.. 고향을 떠난 지 30년 만에 어머니를 방문한 하워드. 하지만 그곳에서도 술에 취해 도박을 하고 싸움을 벌여 경찰서 신세를 진 그에게 어머니는 서부 어딘가 존재조차 알지 못했던 그의 아이가 있다는 사실을 알린다. 한편 보험회사에서 고용된 사설 탐정이 그의 흔적을 좇아 고향에 나타나고, 하워드는 다시 한번 도망치듯 자신의 아이를 찾기 위해 잊었던 옛 애인이 살고 있는 곳으로 떠나는데...
