카시와기 아키코가 5살 때 애완견 레오를 데리고 산책을 나갔다가 해변가 동굴 너머 숲속에 있는 낡은 저택에 들어가 흡혈귀를 목격하고 정신을 잃었다가 깨고 보니 무사히 구출된 경험이 있어 그 악몽에 시달리다가, 그로부터 15년의 세월이 지나 20살이 된 뒤 화가가 되어 후지미 호숫가에 있는 통나무집을 얻어 여동생 나츠코와 단 둘이 살게 됐는데.. 어느날 내용물을 알 수 없는 커다란 나무 상자가 집으로 배달되어 낚시 가게를 운영하는 이웃집 큐사쿠가 맡아서 상자 속 내용물만 꺼내 갔다주기로 했다가, 그게 실은 커다란 관으로 한 밤 중에 관 속에서 흡혈귀가 깨어나 큐사쿠를 시작으로 아키코 주변 사람들을 차례대로 흡혈하고 최종적으로 아키코를 노리면서 벌어지는 이야기.
