Irina is a part-time waitress in a small Bulgarian town. On the very same day when she is fired, her husband gets into a serious accident. Irina's family is trapped in poverty. To make ends meet, she becomes a surrogate mother. Fights, despair and the seed of life growing in her belly bring on another wave to this rough and wrecked life. This is a modern age romantic comedy about the trials to find the right person, in four very different love stories. Initially, Stefan, a young overbearing Belgrade driver who does not believe in anyone or anything, falls in love with Sylvie, French singer, which controlled herself for too long, and now is on the verge of a nervous breakdown and for the first time she will do all that she has always dreaming of. Melita, a frustrated middle-aged woman, who by day works as an organizer of the concert evenings becomes disappointed because her lover, Brian, an American diplomat, in fact, is not the guy that he say he is.

Anica lives in New Belgrade, a miserable district of tower blocks and concrete. She is mistress to Milutin, a wealthly local criminal who owns a solarium and runs a protection racket. Anica is determined not to grow old in this dump where neither love nor life seems to offer her a decent future. One grey winter’s day Anica has an idea to steal money from Milutin’s safe, get on a plane and leave the country forever.

동유럽의 떠오르는 신예 감독 6인이 ‘세대’라는 주제를 가지고 각각의 단편을 만들었다. 독립적인 애니메이션은 니콜라이 니키틴의 주도 아래 진행된 이 프로젝트의 단편들을 하나로 묶어주는 기능을 한다. 공산주의 붕괴 이후 첫 세대의 목소리를 담고 있는 이 영화는 동유럽이 이제 새로운 하나의 유럽에 동참할 준비가 되어있다는 것을 확신시켜 주는 동시에 이 영화를 통해 동유럽인들 스스로가 자신들을 성찰하고 있음을 보여준다.
