지구상의 가장 오래된 사막인 나미브 사막에 7년간의 가뭄으로 베다니 마을은 황폐해진다. 이 조그만 마을에 언제 어디서 왔는지 이름도 알수 없는 이 방문객이 찾아와 살인을 저지르고 폴라로이드 카메라의 렌즈로 마을 사람들의 영혼을 훔친다. 한편 남편과의 불화로 집을 나온 웬디는 사막을 달리던 중 악마의 살인자를 태우고 바다로 향하게 된다.아내를 찾아나선 웬디의 남편 마크는 사건을 수사하면서, 악령을 지닌 자의 무서운 살인임을 알아낸 벤과 함께 이들을 찾아나선다. 웬디를 죽이려던 살인자는 이를 눈치 챈 웬디가 사막으로 도망가자 그녀를 뒤좇고, 이들 네 사람은 사막의 마을 베다니에서 만난다. 그리고 웬디는 오직 한 사람만이 악마의 악마의 저주를 깨뜨릴 수 있다는 것을 알게된다.
