In December 1937, during the Second Japanese-Sino War, a Chinese doctor, his Japanese pregnant wife, their teenage daughter and their young son travel from Shanghai to Nanjing seeking shelter in the Capital during the Japanese invasion. The family faces the Rape of Nanking by the Imperial Japanese Army, with rapes, mass murder of prisoners of war and civilians including women, children and elders, and disrespect of international conventions.

청나라 황제 건륭은 매일 천지회 교주인 진가락(정소추 분)에게 살해당하는 악몽을 꾼다. 참다못한 건륭은 악이다에게 천지회 소탕령을 내린다. 악이다는 천지회의 명부가 있는 곳을 알아내고 명부를 찾기위해 천지회를 추적한다. 한편 그 명부는 방씨성을 가진 천지회 간부 손에 있었다. 방(Father Fong: 주강 분)의 아내와 아들인 방세옥(Fong Sai-Yuk: 이연걸 분)은 아버지의 정체를 전혀 모르고 상인으로만 알고 있었다. 방세옥은 마을에서 말썽꾸러기이자 무공의 고수였다. 세옥은 운동회에 갔다가 터의 딸인 정정(이가흔 분)을 만나 사랑에 빠진다. 터는 무술 시합을 열어 사위를 뽑았다. 이 소식을 안 세옥은 시합에 나가 터의 아내인 소환(호혜중 분)과 시합을 하나, 하녀를 터의 딸로 오해한 세옥은 일부러 패한다. 이것을 모르는 세옥의 어머니(Mother Fong: 소방방 분)는 아들의 체면을 위해 남장을 하고 시합에 나간다. 승리한 후 결혼을 안한다고 하자, 화가난 터는 세옥을 대신 납치해온 후 딸과 결혼을 강요한다. 한편 서로의 신분을 모르는 정정과 세옥은 결혼을 반대하며 반항한다. 이때 악이다는 천지회 명부가 있다는 곳을 감시하라 지시한다. 방은 천지회 회의를 열다, 악이다에게 들켜서 위험에 빠진다. 다행히 아내와 아들의 도움으로 탈출한 방은 모든것을 말하고 용서를 빈다. 세옥은 아버지 말을 믿고 터의 집에서 살게 된다. 모든 것을 알게된 두 사람은 결혼을 한다. 결혼식 날 악이다를 만난 그들은 구사일생으로 탈출을 시도하나, 아버지가 잡혀갔다는 소문을 들은 세옥은 혼자 아버지를 구할 결심을 한후, 어머니와 장인 그리고 정정을 떠나 보낸다. 아버지의 처형장에 혼자 몸으로 간 세옥은 악이다와 목숨을 건 혈투를 벌인다. 이때 소식을 알고 온 어머니와 진가락의 도움으로 악이다를 죽이고, 탈출을 한다. 진가락의 양아들이 된 세옥은 정정과 함께 무보곁을 떠나 살게되고 부모에게 이별을 고한 후 먼길을 떠난다.

Chingmy Yau stars in She Starts The Fire, a fish-out-of-water comedy where the fish can set people on fire! Wendy (Chingmy Yau) arrives in Hong Kong to stay with her aunt Big Beer (Deannie Ip), who shares a space with her landlord Charles (Lawrence Cheng, who also directed). There’s just one problem: Wendy can set things on fire with her mind. Her pyrokinetic powers are applied simultaneously with some bad luck, so the victim usually gets a double whammy of misfortune and charred flesh.

In the 1930s, China was in a state of turmoil and flurry. The dethroned Emperor Pu-Yi had established the Puppet State of Manchukuo in Manchuria and was cooperating with the Japanese in the testing of poisonous gas. The revolutionary army headed by Lieutenant Mong is assigned to crush this vicious plot. During his mission, Mong comes across witty and valiant veteran Uncle Choy and his friends, who volunteer to help. Mong believes that Uncle Choy is too old to join them. 명화와 골동품만 전문으로 훔치는 아해와 홍두 그리고 제임스. 사부의 지휘 아래 환상의 호흡을 자랑하는 이들은 프랑스 파리의 박물관에서 니스로 옮겨지는 그림을 빼앗는 데 성공한다. 국제경찰의 추적을 피하던 이들은 도난당한 명화 ‘할렘의 여시종’을 다시 훔쳐 달라는 프랑스 갱단의 주문을 받고 작업을 하던 중 괴한의 습격을 받게 된다. 격투 끝에 아해가 몰던 자동차가 모터보트와 충돌하며 폭발해 죽고 만다. 이후 제임스는 홍두와 결혼을 약속하고 사부에게 충성하며 살아가던 중, 아해를 죽인 것이 바로 사부와 프랑스 갱단 두목의 계약이라는 것을 알게 된다.

살인 청부업자인 아쏭(주윤발)은 술집에서 임무를 수행하던 중 총격전을 벌이고, 그 와중에 무고한 여가수 제니(엽청문)의 눈을 실명하게 만든다. 이에 대한 자책감으로 제니의 주변을 맴돌던 아쏭은 제니와 사랑에 빠진다. 한편 과감한 결단력으로 수사를 진행하는 리 경위(이수현)은 경찰 상부로부터 이러한 결단력에 늘 문책을 당하는 입장. 아쏭은 제니의 각막 수술 비용을 벌기 위해 마지막으로 동원 그룹 총재인 토니 왕의 살인 청부를 맡고, 리 경위는 상부의 명령으로 토니 왕의 경호를 맡게 된다. 아쏭이 토니 왕을 저격하고 도주하자 리 경위는 이를 추격하는데...

Mona Lam, who works for a swindling syndicate under duress, scours a nightclub for her new prey and finds the rich heir Cheng Siu-chuen. Struggling to find true bliss, the lovers gain the blessing of Lam's second uncle. On the eve of Cheng's father's birthday banquet, Lam is pressured to strike again under the watchful eye of Lucy sent by the man who's pulling the strings on the marionette behind the scenes who has threatened to kill Cheng. Ching-han is prepared to turn herself in when Sung surrenders himself as a gesture of gratitude to his benefactor. Attending the wedding banquet, Lui brings his son and daughter-in-law a golden butterfly.

Guerrilla fighter Lam Suet-fan is in charge of the operation which succeeds in crippling the traitorous activities of Ting Chuen. An infuriated Ting strikes back, swamping the occupied territory with spies and exposes the singer disguise of Lam's comrade Laura who is made his mistress. Through the discreet help from Ting's cousin Sai-kit who goes undercover as the traitor's house guest, a series of offensives are launched, resulting in heavy casualties in the Japanese camp. With pressure mounting on both sides, guerrilla leader Lady Spy No.1 entrusts the mission of bombing Ting's signal tower to Lam who will then lead the troop in retreat. The mission fails, leading to the arrest of Lam and Sai-kit. Laura puts her life at stake in order to accomplish the mission and before she expires, reveals herself to be their leader and names Lam her successor to lead the troop to its stronghold in the north. 신라 문무왕은 부처의 힘을 빌어 왜구와 북쪽 오랑캐를 극복하려는 뜻에서 호국선사 함흥사를 창건한다. 본당 대웅전에 안치한 관음보살상의 정수에 박힌 보석은 천하의 보물로 알려진다. 그 후 고려 말기에 이르러 왜구들이 그 보석을 훔쳐 원나라에 보내자 함흥사 주지 혜초는 제자 금란을 원에 밀파하여 극락 지성을 찾아오게 한다. 이에 장락원 장주 윤정, 원나라를 부흥하려는 모임인 천지회의 단심, 소림사 계율장 당주 당호구, 고려 유민들과 합세한 박금란 등의 4파전이 벌어지는데 마침내 금란이 극락지성을 찾아 고려로 돌아온다.

Sau-chen goes out with the tenant Wong Chun-ching over the protests of her class-conscious parents Eighth Uncle and his wife. To foot the medical bills of his mother, Sau-chen works as a promoter at the Products Expo for Lung Wah Pharmacy and attracts the unwanted attention of the boss Chin Hoi-ngan. Chin desires the woman as a concubine. Acting on the advice of his subordinate Chiu Chik, the boss invents a phantom son and proposes marriage with the offer of a handsome dowry. The employee Wong, short of cash and needs money fast, is drafted as his saviour to meet the parents when the plot is duly exposed. Teaming up with his tenants, Eighth Uncle invites the henpecked husband's termagant wife along and causes a scene. In gratitude of their efforts, the landlord and his wife give blessings to their daughter and her lover.
