자녀들의 결혼을 불과 사나흘 앞둔 빈스 리카도 가족과 셸든 콘펫 가족의 아버지들이 펼치는 모험담. 전 세계를 바쁘게 돌아다니며 일하는 빈스 리카도는 잘 나가는 컨설턴트로 알려진 괴짜이며, 치과의사인 셸든은 그야말로 바른 생활 사나이다. 셸든은 괴짜 빈스를 매우 못 마땅해 한다. 재무부의 지폐 도난 사건에 깊숙이 관여하고 있는 것처럼 보이는 빈스, 그는 범죄자인가? 설상가상으로 빈스는 이 일에 순진한 셸든까지 끌어들인다. 꼼짝없이 범죄자의 희생양이 되는가 보다 벌벌 떨던 셸든. 하지만 빈스는 CIA 요원이었으며 함께 고생한 셸든과 정이 들게 된다.

주인공은 마을 사람들이 하나 둘씩 이상하게 바뀌어 가는 것을 눈치챈다. 그들은 겉모습으로는 전혀 차이가 없지만 마치 정신만 바뀐 것처럼 모두들 딴 사람이 되어 버린다. 사실은 외계에서 날아 온 이상한 꽃씨가 발아하면서 마을에 점점 퍼지고, 그 꽃이 사람들이 잠 잘 때마다 그들의 신체를 복사해 내는 것이였다. 주인공은 친한 친구인 정신과 의사에게 이 사실을 이야기하지만, 친구는 집단 심리 현상일 뿐이라고 설명한다. 마침내 그 정신과 의사조차 이미 변해버린 외계인이라는 사실이 밝혀지고, 주인공을 비롯한 몇몇 사람만이 남아 필사적으로 졸음을 쫓으면서 저항하는데...

When Jack Garet, her secretary and former lover, tries to blackmail her, Madeleine resigns and seeks a reclusive life. Neighbor David Cousins befriends Madeleine, but soon Courtland and Garet discover her whereabouts and disrupt her new life.

Set in an apartment building whose occupants include Arthur Earthleigh, a meek and mild type married to the beautiful-but-domineering Mae; a Bohemian artist, David Galleo and his always-there model, Deborah Tyler; and Olive Jensen, a Greenwich Village type who is always slightly-but-continuously inebriated, and whose motto is "love and let love." She calls on George while his wife is out, and when she passes out during his attempts to get her out before his wife returns, he thinks she is dead and deposits her on Galleo's terrace. Galleo takes advantage of the situation by using it in a blackmail scheme against Arthur, which is shaky, at best, as Olive refuses to stay dead.

러스티 파커(Rusty Parker: 리타 헤이워드 분)는 브로드웨이의 나이트 클럽에서 일하는 코러스걸이다. 어느 날, 유명한 웨딩 잡지에서 커버 걸을 뽑는다는 얘기를 들은 러스티는 잡지사의 오디션에 참석하지만, 그 곳에서 만난 경쟁심 많은 동료의 잔꾀에 넘어가 오디션을 망치고 돌아온다. 한편 러스티의 동료를 보기 위해 나이트 클럽을 찾은 잡지사의 편집장 존 쿠대어(John Coudair: 오토 크루거 분)는 러스티에게 반하고 만다. 결국 러스티는 스타덤에 오르게 된다. 하지만 그녀는 잡지의 커버걸로 많은 돈을 벌면서도 우스꽝스런 나이트 클럽 공연을 계속한다.

Two Virginians are heading for a new life in Texas when they witness a stagecoach being held up. They decide to rob the robbers and make off with the loot. To escape a posse, they split up and don't see each other again for a long time. When they do meet up again, they find themselves on different sides of the law. This leads to the increasing estrangement of the two men, who once thought of themselves as brothers.

어느 남부 지방의 목화 공장을 경영하는 한 가정. 레지나(베티 데이비스 분)는 병든 남편의 재산을 이용하여 시카고에 있는 회사의 지분을 손에 넣으려고 한다. 한편 레지나의 두 오빠들은 동생 레지나의 재산을 이용해 자신들의 욕심을 채우려고 한다. 레지나는 요양 중인 남편 호레스(허버트 마샬 분)의 동의를 얻기 위하여 알렉산드라(테레사 라이트 분)를 보내 남편을 데려온다. 하지만 호레스는 레지나 형제의 음모를 눈치채고 투자에 동의하지 않는다. 그러자 레지나의 오빠인 오스카(칼 벤튼 레이드 분)는 자신의 아들 리오(댄 듀리어 분)가 은행에서 일하고 있는 점을 이용하여 호레스의 금고를 열어 주식을 빼돌려 마음대로 투자해 버린다. 우연히 은행에 들려 이 사실을 알게 된 호레스는 자신의 변호사를 시켜 새로운 유언을 작성하게 하고 이 사실을 부인에게 알린다. 레지나는 자신도 모르는 사이에 두 오빠가 이런 일을 꾸몄다는 사실에 놀란다. 자신은 돈을 위해 호레스와 결혼했다는 독설을 퍼붓는다. 호레스는 충격으로 쓰러지고 알렉산드라는 엄마를 원망하게 된다. 결국 호레스는 혼수 상태에서 깨어나지 못하고 죽음을 맞는다. 하지만 레지나는 이런 상황에서도 오빠에게 회사 지분의 75%를 달라고 협박한다. 이런 엄마의 모습을 지켜본 알렉산드라는 엄마의 욕심에 회의를 느끼게 되고, 결국 엄마를 뒤로 한 채, 냉정하게 집을 떠난다.

세계대전에서 패배한 토매니아국에 힌켈이라는 독재자가 나타나 악명을 떨친다. 한편, 힌켈과 닮은꼴 외모의 이발사 찰리는 국가의 유태인 탄압정책으로 인해 곤경에 처하지만 병사로 참전했던 전쟁에서 우연히 구해줬던 슐츠 장교의 도움을 받아 위기를 모면한다. 독재자 힌켈의 악행은 갈수록 도를 더해가고, 찰리는 유태인 수용소에 끌려가게 되지만 기지를 부려 탈옥에 성공한다. 하지만 이발사와 똑같은 얼굴을 한 힌켈이 탈옥범으로 오해 받아 감옥에 잡혀 들어가게 되는데…
