갓 출옥한 마이클(커트 러셀)은 한밑천 크게 잡아보고자 뜻맞는 동료들과 함께 라스베가스로 간다. 일당의 목적지는 엘비스 프레슬리 분장을 한 사람들이 모여 행사를 여는 리비에라 호텔. 이들은 참가자인 척 엘비스 분장을 하고서 카지노를 털기로 합의를 본다. 한바탕 난장판을 만들고 수백만불을 챙기지만 리더인 머피(케빈 코스트너)의 배신과 하룻밤을 같이 보낸 미혼모 시빌(커트니 콕스)의 욕심으로 마이클의 인생은 더더욱 꼬인다.
