Ruby has started a business baking cakes from home. At the last minute, she has been tasked with creating the centrepiece cake at a friend’s wedding. Now, along with her aloof partner Tom, she must navigate a broken-down car, dismissive parents, unhelpful friends and other obstacles in order to make it to the wedding on time.
For seventeen year old Avaz, family is like a sentence. His mom is the subject, his father the verb, and he is the complement. He shows us his family's life through this prism until his father leaves for the hospital.

미하엘 하네케의 숨겨진 영화 중 하나다. 카프카의 원작에 충실하면서도 등에서 찾아볼 수 있는 마을 사람들의 싸늘한 시선이 영화 속에 고스란히 담겨 있다. 여인과의 섹스에서 탈출구를 찾던 카프카의 세계관 역시 하네케의 해석에서 명징하게 구현된다. (2013년 제14회 전주국제영화제)
