Day on Fire is an American film which was produced by Lodestar Entertainment and filmed in New York City and Israel in 2006. It is written and directed by Jay Anania, stars Academy Award winner Olympia Dukakis, Carmen Chaplin, Alyssa Sutherland and Martin Donovan and is produced by William Fisch and Larry Rattner. The film was scored by John Medeski with vocals by Judy Kuhn. Day on Fire was screened at the 2006 Cannes Film Festival on May 22, 2006.

마이애미의 잘 나가는 사립탐정이자 현상금 사냥꾼인'버쿰 잭슨'(아이스 큐브)의 이번 표적은 얼뜨기 3류 사기꾼인'레지 라이트'(마이크 엡스). 두 사람은 이미 탐정과 범인으로서는 몇 차례 우정(?)을 쌓은 사이 이다. 이번에도 어김없이 레지를 잡기 위한 버쿰의 거친 추격전이 펼친다. 하지만 특유의 넉살과 기지로 버쿰의 손아귀에서 벗어난 레지. 그러나 버쿰의 추격을 피해 그가 숨어든 곳은 다름아닌 보석 갱단의 범죄 차량이었다. 가까스로 보석갱단의 차에서 탈출해 집으로 돌아온 레지는, 자신이 샀던 로또 복권이 6천만 달러에 당첨되었다는 사실을 알게 된다. 그러나 레지의 기쁨도 잠시. 당첨된 로또 복권을 보석 갱단의 차에 흘리고 왔던 것이다. 로또를 되찾기 위해 보석갱단의 소굴로 돌아가던 레지는 그러나 버쿰에게 다시 붙잡히게 된다. 6천만 달러를 눈앞에 두고 감옥에 갈 수 없던 레지는 6천만 달러의 로또 복권에 대한 이야기로 버쿰을 설득한다. 결국 두 사람은 로또 복권도 되찾기 위해 일시적인 협상과 함께 파트너가 된다. 우여곡절 끝에 보석 갱단의 소굴로 잠입하는데 성공한 버쿰과 레지, 그러나 사건은 그때부터 종잡을 수 없이 꼬여가기 시작한다. 과연 어설픈 두 콤비는 로또 복권을 되찾을 수 있을까..?
