Lily Covington, a Manhattan housekeeper, embarks on a trip to the rural Alabama town of her youth. To Lily's surprise, her employer's nine-year-old son Michael stows away for the ride. Together, Lily and Michael realize just how alike and how different their worlds really are. Michael explores a way of life he never knew existed, while Lily discovers some tender truths about the family she left behind.

A father gets a crash course in the outdoors in this made for television comedy for kids. Comedian Bob Saget stars as an urban living dad who decides to take his son Michael (Brian Bonsall) -- working his way to Eagle Scout -- on a camping trip. Poor dad is well-meaning, but fumbles his way through a series of mishaps.

11살짜리 프레스톤 워터스(Preston Waters: 브라이언 본살 분)의 녹슨 구식 자전거가 우연히 퀴글리(Quigley: 미구엘 페러 분)라는 사기꾼의 번쩍번쩍한 새 재규어 자동차와 부딪치면서 프레스톤의 소중한 재산은 곧 찌그러진 고철 덩어리가 된다. 그런데 프레스톤은 손해 배상으로 일생일대의 행운을 쥐게 되는데, 돈세탁 계획에 연루된 범죄자인 퀴글리가 자전거 값으로 수표 한장을 얼른 넘겨 주면서 다급한 마음에 금액 적은 걸 잊어버린 것. 이 바보와 헤어지자 실수를 알아차린 프레스톤은 대담스럽게도 금액을 적어 넣는다. 1백만 달러로! 프레스톤은 흥청망청 돈을 써대면서 그가 가지고 싶었던 모든 물건을 사고 대부분의 사람들은 상상만 할 수 있는 고급생활을 누린다. 현금으로 가득찬 돈가방을 가지고 그는 개인 운전수를 고용해서 커다란 집을 사고 12번째 생일 파티를 거창하게 벌인다. 하지만 파티가 끝나자 초대받지 않은 손님인 FBI와 퀴글리, 그리고 그 일당이 들어닥면서 프레스톤은 곤경에 처하게 되는데...

잭(Jack Charles: 패트릭 스웨이즈 분)은 마약 밀매 등 일확천금을 꿈꾸는 한심한 작자였다. 그리고 두 아이를 보호소에 쳐박아둔 채 허황된 꿈만 꾸는 이름뿐인 아버지였다. 그러던 어느날, 보호원을 도망쳐나온 딸 캘리(Kelly: 사브리나 로이드 분)가 아버지를 비난하기 시작한다. 캘리의 출현으로 잭의 대 계획에 차질이 생기게 된다. 캘리를 다시 보호원으로 넣으려 하는 잭에게 캘리는 보호원의 학대와 형편없는 실태를 폭로하여 에디(Eddie: 브라이언 본살 분)도 구하려 한다. 잭은 캘리의 말에 흥분하여 에디를 구하려 하지만 포기한 부권과 보호원 감독관의 비난에 힘을 쓸 수 없다는 것을 깨닫는다. 그러나 수갑을 차고 호송되는 에디를 본 순간 잭은 에디를 빼내게 된다. 이때 처음으로 아버지와 딸의 마음이 맞았다. 피할 수 없는 어떤 힘에 끌려 부정을 느끼게 되었던 것이다. 이제 모험과 여행이 시작된다. 잭은 뉴올린즈에서 한건 올리자는 친구가 있어, 사기꾼 어머니에게 애들을 맡기려 한다. 하지만 그의 어머니도 애들이 성가신 존재라 여기고 이를 거부하여, 애들과의 여행을 계속하게 된다. 그를 쫓는 경찰들과 신문에 나온 잭의 얼굴, 그러나 아슬아슬하게 경찰의 추적을 피하고 뉴올리언즈까지 닿게 된다. 여행을 하는 동안 아이들을 지키려는 아버지의 모습으로 조금씩 변해가는 잭. 그러면서 캐더린(Kathleen Mercer: 헬레 베리 분)에게 진실을 폭로하는 것도 잊지 않는다. 드디어 뉴올리언! 잭은 아이들이 보는 앞에서 악한 아버지가 될 수는 없었다. 결국 건달에서 아버지로 돌아온 것이다. 마침내 잭은 자수를 하고 아이들을 학대하고 괴롭히던 보호원의 실태를 법정에 호소하여 영웅이 된다. 그리고 2년반의 시간이 흘렀다. 감옥을 나오는 잭은 이제 그를 반기는 아이들에게 사랑을 줄 수 있는 아버지의 모습으로 변하게 되는데.

Like all other parents, the Dollisons are tormented — "we should have known, we should have seen" — but their devastation is complete when Teddy tells his own story, one he promised his abusers he would never tell.

This film combines live action/original animation and library animation. Mickey steals a magic hat from a Sorcerer and is put under a spell by the angry magi so that no one will recognize him until he finds his own magic within. While Mickey is on his quest, network news teams around the country desperately try to find the famous, beloved mouse who has mysteriously disappeared. On his quest, Mickey goes into the "Cheers" bar, meets up with the characters from "Family Ties", and winds up on Disneyland's Main Street the night before his Birthday celebration is to take place. It is there that he finds he has all the magic inside him that he will ever need. The spell is broken and the Birthday bash commences as the whole World celebrates the beloved Mickey Mouse.
