전편에서 막판에 이즈마를 배신하고, 정의의 편에 서서 쿠스코의 왕위 복귀를 도운 크롱크. 이제는 왕실 주방장을 그만두고 식당을 열었다. 동네 사람들 모두 음식솜씨 좋고 정많은 크롱크를 좋아하고, 크롱크에게는 단골 손님 뿐 아니라 친구들도 아주 많이 생겼다. 모든 것이 장밋빛인 듯 하지만, 한 장의 엽서가 도착하면서 크롱크의 모든 행복은 그 빛을 잃고 만다. 크롱크의 아버지가 크롱크를 보러 오겠다는 것이다. 크롱크의 아버지는 어린시절부터 크롱크에게 성공을 강조해왔으며, 자랑스럽게 여긴다는 말을 한번도 해준 적이 없다. 아버지가 생각하는 성공이란 언덕위의 집, 예쁜 아내, 귀여운 아이들이 있는 것이며, 크롱크는 이제껏 아버지에게 그런 생활을 하고 있다고 거짓말을 해왔다. 물론, 아버지가 도착해서 크롱크가 집도 없고 아내도, 아이도 없는, 그저그런 식당 주방장이란 사실을 알게 되면 무척이나 실망하실 것이다. 바로 이 때, 크롱크 앞에 이즈마가 다시 나타난다. 재기를 노리는 그녀는 시궁창 물을 “젊음의 약”으로 속여서 노인들에게 팔아, 그 돈으로 다시 한번 대권에 도전해 볼 생각이다. 아버지를 실망시키고 싶지 않은 크롱크는 이즈마의 계획에 가담하여 큰 돈을 벌게 되지만, 그 때문에 가깝게 지내던 노인들이 갈 곳을 잃자 양심의 가책을 느끼는데….
