Nevins
1966년 베트남, 다낭 공군기지 사령관 드러먼드 장군은 특수부대 지휘관 모라 대위에게 미군을 위해 일하는 베트남 정보원의 인적사항이 기록된 기밀문서를 회수하라고 지시한다. 모라 대위는 크로포드와 함께 공병들이 기지를 구축 중인 아르곤 전초기지로 향한다. 기지에서 공병을 지휘하는 애커먼 상병이 헬기를 타고 온 모라 대위를 맞이한다. 드러먼드가 보낸 특수부대가 전우들의 희생 끝에 되찾은 극비 문서를 모라에게 전달한다. 얼마 후, 갑자기 나타난 베트콩들이 기지를 쑥대밭으로 만들고 문서를 빼앗아간다. 드러먼드 장군이 문서를 되찾기 위해 밀러 중령을 기지로 급파한다. 밀러는 애커먼, 콜, 크로포드 등과 함께 사냥개를 앞세워 달아난 베트콩 추적에 나선다. 매복을 제거하고 나아가던 밀러 중령은 거대한 베트콩의 지하 터널을 발견한다. 드러먼드는 2시간 내에 문서를 찾지 못하면 터널을 폭파시키라고 크로포드에게 명령한다. 콜과 애커먼 등의 공병들이 문서를 회수하고 지도를 작성하기 위해 죽음의 터널로 들어가는데...
