몽(마츠다 류헤이)은 종이가 아닌 돌 위에 만화를 그린다. 그는 그 스스로를 ‘만화예술가’라고 칭하지만 직업이라고 말할 만큼의 충분한 돈벌이를 하지 못하는 그냥 특이한 오타쿠일 뿐이다. 또다른 오타쿠 코이노(사카이 와카나)는 지루한 사무 업무를 보며 일상을 살지만 코스튬 플레이와 소녀만화를 그리는 것으로써 자신을 위한 배출구로 삼고 있다. 이 젊은 남녀가 어느 날 우연히 마주쳤다. 평소 푹 빠져있는 게임 캐릭터에 어울리는 남자를 찾던 코이노는 몽에게 코스튬 플레이를 시켜보고 딱 어울리는 남자라는 것을 알게 된다. 또한 그동안 여자운 없던 몽에게도 코이노와의 만남은 천재일우로 다가온다. 만화에 오타쿠적으로 빠져있고, 닮은 듯 다른 모습을 한 두 젊은 남녀의 재기발랄한 연애 소동은 해피엔딩으로 끝날 수 있을까?
