영화 학도 스테판(잭슨 래스본)은 우연히 미스터리한 인물 퀘이드(숀 에반스)를 만나게 된다. 학기말 과제로 `두려움`에 대한 다큐멘터리를 만들기로 한 두 사람은 미모의 동료 셰릴 프롬(핸느 스틴)까지 합류시키며 본격적인 프로젝트로 착수한다. 취재가 계속될수록 다른 이들의 공포에 대한 집착이 커져가는 세 사람. 급기야 더 큰 공포심을 자극하기 위해 상상할 수 없는 끔찍하고 위험한 계획을 세우기 시작한다. 그 속에서 드러나는 세 사람의 비밀, 동료 조차도 믿을 수 없는 상황에서 취재는 통제불능의 상태에 빠져버리고 마는데...

Long ago in the Iron Age, a shadow loomed over a lonely village. For generations, the village youths are stolen from their families and delivered as sacrifice to a mythical beast - the Minotaur, that dwells beneath a great palace. Theo, haunted by the loss of his love in an earlier sacrifice is convinced that the beast isn't real and that his girl still lives as a slave within the palace.

Stanley is a student who turns down his friend Gordon's invitation to cut class, saying that maybe today they'll learn something, maybe today the school will teach something. Sure enough, once Stanley's teacher gets the attention of the unruly class, she tells them that this lesson is the most important one they'll ever study - the meaning of life. She passes out a pamphlet, but runs out as she gets to Stanley, telling him that his surly seat mate, Garth, will have to share the booklet with him. She leaves, and Garth hordes the material. What's Stanley to do?
