LA 경찰과 길 위의 레이 일행을 번갈아 보여주는 교차 편집으로 이야기를 펼쳐 가는데 군데군데 강도 높은 폭력묘사가 나온다. 배우들의 연기는 일급이다. 빌리 밥 손튼의 무명 시절 모습을 볼 수 있다.
