진저 베이커는 ‘크림’과 ‘블라인드 페이스’에서 활동한 전설적인 드러머였지만 이후 주목할 만한 활동을 하지 못하다가 1972년에 나이지리아로 이주했고, 그곳에서 펠라 쿠티가 이끄는 ‘아프로비트’라는 밴드를 만나 연주했다. 다시 나이지리아를 떠난 뒤 약물에 의존해 살며 폐인이 되어 가던 그는 결국 73세의 나이로 남아프리카 공화국에 정착하여 어린 신부와 결혼하고 39마리의 폴로 경기용 조랑말을 기르며 살아간다. 드럼 연주에 묻어 있는 진저 베이커의 삶을 담기 위해 심혈을 기울인 이 작품에는 에릭 클랩튼, 스티브 윈우드, 카를로스 산타나 등 여러 음악가들과의 인터뷰도 소개되고 있다.
