그림 모조 전문화가 해리(Harry Donovan: 제이슨 패트릭 분)의 집으로 미술품 브로커들이 찾아오고, 해리에게 거장 램브란트의 그림을 그려 달라며 50만불을 제시한다. 해리는 완강히 거부하지만 아버지의 병원비 때문에 거래를 승낙한다. 단 경매나 공개적인 판매는 허용할 수 없다는 뜻을 분명히 하고. 램브란트를 연구하기 위해 파리에 도착한 해리. 노천 카페에서 우연히 만난 마리케(Prof. Marieke van den Broeck: 에렌느 야곱 분)와 사랑을 나누게 되고, 램블란트의 그림을 모조하는데 전력을 다한다. 그리고 한달 후, 드디어 램브란트보다 더욱 램브란트 다운 그림이 완성된다. 브로커들은 해리의 그림이 진품인지를 판정받기 위해 미술품 감정가들을 부르고, 사라진 램브란트의 그림으로 확신한다. 그러나 브로커들은 램브란트 그림의 전문 감정가인 마리케의 진품 판정없이는 잔금을 지불할 수 없다며 마리케를 초대한다. 마리케는 램브란트의 그림이 아니라고 판정, 전문 감식을 요청하며 급하게 자리를 뜬다. 그러자 브로커들은 해리의 그림을 진품이라 짜고 경매에 나갈 계획을 세우게 된다. 격분한 해리가 그림을 갖고 떠나려 하자 충돌이 일어나고 결국 해리는 자신의 그림을 가지고 도망치는데. 음모에 말려들었음을 직감한 해리는 마리케만이 그림의 진위를 판정할 수 있다고 판단하고 그녀를 쫓아간다. 살인자의 누명과 그림을 훔친 범죄에서 벗어나야 하는 해리. 과련 그는 어떻게 이 음모에서 탈출할 수 있을지.

Just married Hong Kong couple Chen & Lily emigrate to England, soon to become parents to a little baby boy and generally struggle through life. Chen works long days in a restaurant, while Lily does the housekeeping, daydreaming of setting up their own business, much to Chen's chagrin.
