제시(Jessica Riggs: 레베카 하렐 분)는 엄마를 잃고 오빠와 아빠와 사는 가난한 농부의 딸이다. 크리스마스가 가까운 어느날 산타 할아버지가 있다고 믿는 제시는 학교를 마치고 오는 길에 거리에서 크리스마스 장식으로 시청 앞에 걸려 있던 산타 할아버지의 사슴 프랜서가 떨어지는 것을 목격한다. 다음날 숲속에서 사슴 한마리를 발견한 제시는 그것이 프랜서라고 생각하고 집 헛간에다 몰래 숨겨두고 부상당한 다리를 싸매주는 등 정성을 다해서 돌봐준다. 그러고는 산타 할아버지한테 12월 23일 앤틀러 산마루로 프랜서를 데리고 갈 테니 와서 데리고 가라고 쓴 편지를 산타 노릇을 하고 있는 스튜어트에게 전하는데...

In the later 1960s, two hippies are forced to leave their friends as they are wanted by the FBI, who sees them as criminals. They hide in the jungle for 20 years, secluded from the outside world. In the later 1980s, the find out that a secret war is about to start in the US, and decide to return to New York to tell someone about it.
