William Rotsler was a man of many talents applied to an odd assortment of fields. In addition to his film work, he was an artist, a sculptor, an author,and a photographer--often of nudes. Within the science fiction world he is best known for his many cartoons, which he would often provide for free to SF fanzines. He was also involved in the design of the Science Fiction Writers of America Nebula Award (and also provided some of the components). He was a four-time Hugo Award winner (1975, 1979, 1996, and 1997) for Best Fan Artist. In 1998 the Southern California Institute for Fan Interests created the William Rotsler Award in his honor; it is presented for lifetime achievements by SF fan artists.

Putting together an awards show is a monumental task. Oscar, Emmy, Tony, Grammy, they've all had a lot of practice, and the result is a smooth-run, professional-looking program. But, the first show for each was probably a bit chaotic. This is the X-Rated Critics Organization (XRCO)'s first attempt at an awards show for the adult film industry. Chaos doesn't begin to describe it. Held in a showbar in West Hollywood on Valentine's Day, 1985, XRCO awarded fifteen "Heart-Ons" to actors, actresses, screenwriters, directors, theatrical films and direct-to-videos, and another three in an all-male category. An additional five Heart-Ons, with categories like "Lascivious Lesbian" and "Orgasmic Oral" went to participants in specific scenes.

Eddie, a sexually frustrated young man, buys a book on hypnosis and learns the art of mesmerism. He uses his newfound talent to hypnotize Nora, a lovely young housemaid, ostensibly to help cure her headache, but then he transforms her into his loving sex slave. Kelly and Eddie, two fugitives who have committed robbery and murder, take refuge in a house inhabited by four women, all lesbians who have rather “special” sexual preferences. Kelly, an ex-convict, caresses Joy, one of the women, with his pistol–to her obvious pleasure–and then abuses her; he beats Mitzi, another roommate, who has sadomasochistic fantasies of being held captive by two men, when she hands him a whip; but Kelly is rebuffed by Toni, the leader of the group, when he tries to force “Baby Doll,” Toni’s current favorite, into doing a sex act. Toni, maintaining that Baby Doll prefers women, demonstrates female cunnilingus. Angry, Kelly ties Toni to the bed and abuses her. Finally, the women attempt to escape. They bash in Eddie’s head and shoot and seriously wound Kelly. Toni is accidentally killed in a struggle with Joy, who interferes when Toni announces that she will emasculate Kelly with the gun.
