어느날 조용한 마을에 '맨트'라는 공포 영화가 개봉되는데 이 영화의 제작자는 다름 아닌 빈털털이. 울지는 이 영화 한편에 목숨을 건 사나이로 허풍은 있지만 나쁜 사람은 절대 아니다. 그러나 그는 영화를 성공시켜야겠다는 일념으로 갖은 꾀를 다 짜낸다. 무서운 장면이 나올때마다 가동되는 전기 충격 의자, 영화 속의 괴물을 등장 시키기 등등. 드디어 영화는 개봉되고 극장은 꼬마 아이들로 만원이 되는데 울지의 기쁨도 잠깐 극장안에서 사고가 난 것이다. 울지가 고용한 괴물 스탠이 옛 애인과 남자의 키스 장면을 보고 흥분한 것이다. 극장은 엉망진창, 영화를 꼭 성공시켜야만 되는 울지는 울까말까 망설이고 있는데.
