The movie XIIa is the sequel of the super successful XIa. In XIIa the journey continues. After two years break, Lina is back to school to teach a new class - a new class, new problems. At home, the situation is also not better. Lina is separated with her cheating husband and her dominating mother is constantly bullying her, Lina's son is maltreated by classmates - at times the tension reaches extreme limits and Lina is about to collapse. This is a story of strange, impossible, inexplicable love between a Muslim Turk woman and a non-Muslim Bulgarian man. Ivan (the Bulgarian) is a pure and romantic young fellow, who gets caught up in the so-called "regeneration process" (when ethnic Turks' names were forcibly changed to Bulgarian ones). He is responsible for the official seals, which is required to issue the new identity documents after the forced name changes. The schoolteacher Ayten tries to steal the seals, thinking that this way she can slow down the ethnic genocide. Their unexpected and unusual meeting brings these two characters together and makes them fell close, forcing Ivan to take a fateful decision -he must either "rename" Ayten, or face the consequences if he does not.

The lives and fates of the regular visitors of a village inn.

Gynecology clinic in Sofia, Bulgaria. On one of the floors several women are waiting for their turn to get an abortion. And on the other floor, four older women struggle to preserve the life they carry. Toni must decide whether to give birth to a child who will not have a father.

Velko, Filip, Pavel and Gosho have different professions but are connected by the love they have for music. They rehearse all year to make it big on the sea resorts in the summer. The head of the cultural center where they play is willing to give them the musical equipment if they replace their singer Maria (Filip's girlfriend) with the attractive but untalented Reni. This is the first, but not the last compromise they have to make on the way to the dream.

1930s, Dobrudja. The shepherds Vasil, Peter and Ago work in the farm of Zachariah and Sevastitsa. Vasil is the manager of the sheepfold. In his house lives the young and beautiful Vasilena, for whom everyone sighs.

Vesa, a 16-year old Bulgarian girl, cannot speak. A fortune-teller predicts that the girl will convalesce if somebody sacrifices their life for her. The fortune-teller's mentally challenged nephew, who comes to hear the prophecy, follows the girl.
