오하이오 주 변두리의 한적한 소읍 클라이드에 어느 날 온 마을을 떠들썩하게 하는 사건이 벌어진다. 15년 전 훌쩍 이곳을 떠난 후, 공전의 대히트를 기록한 노래의 주인공으로서, 또한 유능한 사업가로서 그 마을의 전설적인 존재가 된 '록시 카마이클'이라는 여자가 귀향한다는 소식 때문이었다. 조용했던 마을은 삽시간에 술렁이고, 주민들은 금요일에 있을 '록시 귀향 환영 무도회'에 대한 이야기로 꽃을 피운다. 그 소식은 록시의 옛애인 덴튼(Denton Webb: 제프 다니엘스 분)의 생활을 뒤흔들어 놓는다.

Lucile Fray was diagnosed with cancer in 1952 and wanted to find suitable homes for her ten children, since she felt her husband could not properly care for them. Prior to her death, she succeeded. The film was directed by John Erman, written by Michael Bortman, and starred Ann-Margret in her first television film. It was originally broadcast on American Broadcasting Company. The same evening as its original broadcast, February 14, 1983, the children of Lucile Fray appeared on That's Incredible!, an ABC program.
