Sicilia 1943, after the landing, between the invading Us army and the defender Italian army, a 2000 years old roman bridge resist to all kind of attacks. Both the army decides to definitively destroy it before the opponent does. But to the chaotic mad American platoon is opposed an Italian military band exchanged for a terrible special commando. Probably the bridge will survive another 2000 years!

In un ambulatorio, dove capita per caso, conosce Marta e se ne innammora. Dopo una serie di divertenti situazioni (un vecchio amico dalla parlantina inarrestabile arriva da Napoli; la matura zia ed il suo attempato amante; un giovane prete Americano che vuole coinvolgerlo per forza nelle sue visite evangeliche; l'incontro con Riccardino, un giovane frustrato da una madre oppressiva; il padre che aspetta il miracolo della ricrescita di una mano amputata; etc.) Gaetano decide di restare a Firenze e di fare da padre al figlio che Marta aspetta, anche se la ragazza non vuole rivelare con esattezza il nome del padre.

1950년대의 시실리. 비토 가르가노와 미켈레 라브루쪼는 가난한 농부의 아들로 태어나 한 마을에서 자란 죽마고우. 패전국으로 가난과 실업과 범죄와 이념 갈등으로 이탈리아는 시달리고 있고, 30년대부터 마피아 본산인 시실리는 더욱 심하다. 마차로 곡물수송을 하던 비토와 미켈로는 트럭으로 곡물 수송하던 인부들과 시비가 벌어져 비토가 그중 한명을 죽인다. 마침 그 곁을 지나던 대지주 돈 쥬스또는 이를 단순사고로 처리해준다. 미켈레는 공산주의 이념에 물들어 농민을 선동 돈 쥬스또의 땅을 탈취하려 하는데 이에 돈 쥬스또는 비토를 유혹, 미켈로를 제거한다. 그후 비토는 승승장구, 이곳의 대부노릇을 한다. 그는 돈 쥬스또를 이용 대단위 건설 사업을 벌여 본격적인 마피아 사업을 시작한다. 그러나 종국에는 돈 쥬스또까지 제거하나 이탈리아에 불어닥친 마피아 소탕작전의 표적이 되어 재파에 회부된다. 교묘한 술책으로 재판에선 승리하나, 측근의 배신으로 결국 피살당하고 만다.

새끼를 밴 어미가 인간에게 잡혀 죽자 돌고래가 복수를 시작한다. 배를 부수고 사람을 해치는 등 돌고래의 횡포가 게속되자 어부들은 돌고래를 죽일 계획을 진행한다.
