Iván and Inés live locked up. Lately they hear voices, see objects break and perceive presences. He, anguished, keeps the home standing, while she only knits red vests. Now the house forces them out after thirty years.

Benjamin is meant to be a great doctor, he’s certain of it. But his first experience as a junior doctor in the hospital ward where his father works doesn’t turn out the way he hoped it would. Responsibility is overwhelming, his father is all but present, and his co-junior partner, a foreign doctor, is far more experimented than he is. This internship will force Benjamin to confront his limits… and start his way to adulthood.

There is a blackout in Mexico City. In the darkness some people are abandoned by God (their conscience) and commit a transgression (murder and infidelity). When the lights come on, conscious of what they have done, they must atone for their sin.

This is the story of Lautaro, a ten year old boy who lives in the Tierra Caliente region in southern Mexico during the 40´s. When he is orphaned, he is sent to live with an aunt in a town 60 kilometers away. Lautaro decides, for a number of reasons, to walk back home, and on his way he meets many people, alive and dead, who help him get back home.

크게 지옥, 연옥, 천국의 세 부분으로 나뉘어져 있다. 첫번째 지옥 부분은 베트남, 크림반도, 중동, 제 2차 세계대전 등 전쟁의 여러 가지 이미지들을 조합한 화면으로 이루어져 있다. 연옥 부분은 포화로 무너진 현재의 사라예보를 보여준다. 모스타 다리 건설현장을 방문해서 보여주는 화면은 그 자체가 죄에서 용서로의 점진적 발전을 상징적으로 보여주고 있다. 천국 부분에서는 연옥 부분에서 등장했던 한 여자가 다시 등장해, 미 해군병들이 보초를 서고 있는 작은 해안가에서 평화를 찾는 모습을 보여준다.

In a small town where nothing ever happens, the inhabitants learn about a place at the edge of the earth where money and women are abundant. When they see the oportunity to go and work illegaly in the United States, they jump at the chance. Meanwhile Andrés and Gregorio go to the town searching for treasures and they only find Matilde, the rest of the women in the town left, tired of waiting for the men to return.
